Village Green is Southend’s fastest growing music festival. Offering so much more than music, Village Green Festival celebrates all art forms (with strictly NO cheesy face painting or bouncy castles!).

Set in the picturesque grounds of the beautiful Victorian park, Chalkwell Park, Village Green festival goers are spoilt for activities and entertainment with eight different stages, gardens and green space and different marketplaces. If you want to take a break from the live music, you can enjoy some theatre, spoken word, poetry, lindy-hop and fox trot lessons, outdoor arts, circus and cabaret acts, films, workshops, games and much much more. Every activity is arts-led.

These are the first Village Green 2016 line-up announcements. More to be added as soon as they are announced!

• Billy Bragg - headlining the Riverside Stage!
• Stereo MCs - will also be performing on the Riverside Stage in the late afternoon.
• The Turbans - the band members mix their cultural musical influences of Turkey, Bulgaria, Israel, Iran, Italy, Greece and England along with an anarchic punk energy. Performing on Riverside Stage in early evening.
• Dream Themes - full scale re-creation of the kids TV show Camberwick Green.
• Sharon Rose - Southend singer-songwriter.

• Charlie Cunningham
• Artists Village - Eight visual artists from around the UK living and creating on-site in the weeks leading up to the festival.

Sean McLouglin, the Village Green festival director has said,

“This year’s festival is set to highlight some of the most eclectic international, national and regional talent. We are absolutely delighted to welcome back Mr Bragg to headline, a man who is regarded with both admiration and affection in this neck of the woods. There’s a huge amount more in the pipeline to announce in the coming weeks too.”
