This year’s Southend Armed Forces weekend will be a three day family-fun celebration of Southend’s armed forces.

At the end of Southend Pier will be a 1940’s Vintage Fair all weekend, so if you miss the Vintage-on-Sea festival, you won’t want to miss this!

Friday 27th June 2014:

10am to 4pm

There will be a Tag Rugby competition in Chalkwell Park, featuring local teams from Southend schools and the Southend Spartans rugby club. There will also be stalls and Veteran stands set up, raising money for military charities, and the Army Outreach Team and Armed Forces Recruitment Team.

Saturday 28th June 2014:

10am to 5pm

The day will start with an Armed Forces parade along the High Street led by 1312 ATC Band and open air services from 10:30am. This will be followed by military exercise displays and entertainment in the town centre throughout the day, along with military vehicles, Veterans, cadets and military charity stalls.

Swing dance at the Royal Pavilion at the end of Southend Pier in the evening, to accompany the weekend long Vintage Fair that will be hosted there.

Sunday 29th June 2014:

10am to 6pm

Live music, entertainment and other fun and games throughout the day, starting off with a Seafront Salute at City Beach on Southend seafront. There will also be a beach touch rugby tournament after the salute. Entertainment will include musical performances, military vehicles and other fun stuff!
