Our favourite FREE TO ENTER folk festival, now in its 24th year!

Leigh Folk Festival is the largest free folk festival in the country. The streets of Old Leigh come alive under the Summer sun, as they become populated with over 300 artists and performers and over 20,000 attendees - with plenty to do for the whole family and a cosy village fête atmosphere! Leigh Folk Festival is located just off of Leigh-on-Sea beach so there’s even swimming (or mud wrestling!) to enjoy when you want to take a break from the great music performed across over 20 different venues and stages. There will be a mix of traditional and contemporary dance - from Celtic, English and Scottish dance groups, country dancing, morris sides, African dancers, international folk dance, jive and last but not least, line-dancing! Not to mention real ales, street food and Old Leigh’s local delicacy: shellfish! There will also be plenty of street art for you to enjoy. All outdoor performances are free, with only a limited number of ticketed events.

Lots of folk-style entertainment especially for children too! Including storytelling, traditional Punch & Judy performances, clowns, face-painting, puppet shows and circus skills workshops.
