DAWN OF THE DEAD AT ROYALS SHOPPING CENTRE!

Essex zombie fans will be excited to hear that this year the Royals Shopping Centre in Southend will be hosting a free screening of George A Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, the 1978 zombie cult classic, as part of a unique shopping centre fright night experience.

The ultimate zombie horror movie, famous for its plot involving a shopping mall infested with brain-eating zombies, will feel eerily similar as you realise that you are not alone in the shopping mall that you yourself are sitting in…

This will be the first time that Dawn of the Dead is being shown at a shopping centre in the UK. It will be dark. All the shops will be shut… And the pop up cinema will be located at the centre of the shopping mall, BUT you may find that the zombies will not be confined to the cinema screen…

As this is Halloween, you are encouraged to come in Halloween costume, preferably Dawn of the Dead related costumes, and there will be prizes for the best costumes!

As the Dawn of the Dead horror film is rated 18, this event is strictly for over-18s only.

The movie will start at 8PM, but as spaces are limited (around 200), there will be a “first come, first served” system to ensure that everyone gets a good view of the film. The Royals Shopping Centre reserves the right to refuse entry.

This film screening will be held as a collaboration between Royals Shopping Centre, the White Bus, Silent Studios and South Essex College.
