What’s a Raspberry Jam?
A Raspberry Jam is a meetup of like-minded people with an interest in open source technology! It’s typically for all ages and you don’t even need a Raspberry Pi to come along to a Raspberry Jam. The best way to find out what Raspberry Jams are all about is to come along to one!
There’s loads of workshops, talks, show and tells, videos, flashing LEDS, robots and more fun than you can shake a stick at!
The free event will include:
- an introduction to programming in Python, Scratch or Blockly
- demonstrations of Raspberry Pi / Arduino interfacing with LEDs, buzzers, switches, PiCam
- Raspberry Pi Robotics, including the robot arm and wheeled robots
- various workshops where you can learn how to create your own webpage, server or media centre
- video recording using a Quadcopter - beautiful aerial videos of Southend by David Black
- fun with Sonic Pi 2, learn to program by creating your own tunes and sound effects
- exploration of Minecraft: Pi Edition - Learn Python programming through Minecraft
- how to build your own computer games in PyGame
- stalls where you can buy Raspberry Pi products
- WiFi internet access! So bring along your own Raspberry Pi, laptop or smart phone!
- Lots of cool people waiting to be your friends!
There will also be a raffle for the chance to win your very own Raspberry Pi B+ Ultimate Kit!
Raspberry Pi B+ Ultimate Kit donated kindly by ModMyPi.com for the raffle. Plus an assortment of other various prizes. Raffle tickets are £1 each and will be drawn at 4PM on the day.
