Let’s get the seaside back to its litter-free glory days!
Thorpe Bay, Southend-on-Sea, will be taking part of the Great British Beach Clean weekend, organised by the Marine Conservation Society.
Join the 10,000 people across Britain who will be having a fantastic day at the seaside in a community beach clean! Great opportunity to spend some time by the sea before Summer well and truly ends, and help the environment!
The British Seaside used to be a tourist hot spot, free of litter, just a few generations ago. Our throw-away society means that today it’s a dumping ground for all sorts of disgusting rubbish.
All clean up equipment will be provided and there will also be an additional seaside treasure hunt for the kids!
Things to bring to the Beach Clean:
- Sturdy footwear
- Gloves for picking up litter
- Clothes to suit the weather conditions
- Refreshments
- It would be great if you could bring the sun too!
Meeting place will be opposite Thorpe Bay Tennis Courts (just after the mini roundabout) on Thorpe Bay Esplanade.
Register as a volunteer here!
