As a fully inclusive theatre company\, The Mushroom Theatre Company integrates able bodies performers alongside disabled children\, or those with special needs.\n\n\n17:00 – Short Films\n19:00 – Disadvantage Point by Gill West\n\nStarring: Alphas Ndhlovu\, Khabi Abrey and Leo Eaglewood. Kofi is 59 years old\, he is homeless and thousands of miles away from his homeland. He is also the key witness to a violent incident on the street but the police won’t believe his version of the events. In a desperate attempt to let the truth be heard he tells a journalist about the attack and also shares some of his life story in order to add weight to his argument. During the discussion the audience plays the part of the (silent) journalist.\n\n\n21:00 – Modern Romance by The Silly People\n\nStarring Lucy Bishop and Chris Yarnell. A Modern Day Romance\, is a piece of new writing from the comedy musical duo “Silly People”. In this mini folk-opera\, helf together with nothing more than some microphones\, a guitar\, a ukulele\, and any other instruments the two can get their hands on! The story follows Charlie Wayne and Emily Clewitt\, in their quest for love via social media. The two accept friend requests\, fall in love\, update status’\, drift apart\, send a tweet or two and both learn a valuable lesson covered in hashtags! Almost everything is made public and much is based on true stories!
