DESCRIPTION:Christmas-on-Sea 2014!\nChristmas-on-Sea officially begins in the 15th November this year\, when Southend’s Christmas lights and decorations will be switched on\, sparkling throughout 2014’s Christmas festivities. With loads of different things happening around the High Street to celebrate the start of Christmas-on-Sea! There’ll be a few extra Christmas surprises that haven’t been mentioned yet\, so make sure to come so you don’t miss out on all the weird and wacky roaming entertainers who will be lurking around Southend town centre throughout the day! \nSouthend Christmas Events 2014\nHigh Street (All day long)\nSouthend High Street will be busy all day long with a Christmas Farmers & Craft Market offering a wide selection of seasonal delights\, Christmas treats and gifts for friends and family. (Don’t you love the smell of the High Street during Christmas time? All that delicious smelling hot food!) \nHigh Street – The Royals End (11:30AM – 1:30PM)\nCrazy Legs the children’s entertainer will be performing his crazy Christmas festive show – with crazy dancing\, crazy puppets\, and absolutely CRAZY amounts of crazy fun! \nHigh Street – The Royals End (1:30AM – 3:30PM)\nSalvo the Clown will be entertaining the kids after Crazy Legs has finished up\, with his wonderful balloon creations that everyone in Southend knows him for! \nVictoria Circus (2:30PM – 6:15PM)\nRadio presenter Dom Atkins will be featuring Britain’s Got Talent’s Sweet Chix and Youth Creation. As well as performances from local music artists\, including The Avenue\, Matt Linnen and more! \nRoyal Square (3PM – 6:15PM)\nPaul Lovett from Radio Essex will be hosting the show in Royal Square with live entertainment\, music and festive fun to get the Christmas spirit going! \nHeart Radio presenters Martin & Su (5PM)\nHeart 96.3 and 102.6 presenters\, Martin and Su\, will be heading the fantastic line up leading to the Big Switch On moment. There will be a festive sing-along with the band Glitterball and this year’s X Factor’s Lydia Lucy performing. The 2014’s Cliffs Pavilion Peter Pan panto star Christopher Biggins was supposed to be switching on Southend’s Christmas lights\, quickly replaced by David Hasselhoff (who now\, due to a family emergency\, has had to travel back to the US and will not be able to switch the lights on from there) and now…? Who knows who will be joining Southend’s Mayor in the magical pressing of the Christmas button to switch on the Christmas lights! I guess we’ll have to just wait and see…. (EDIT: It has been announced now that David Hasselhoff will be replaced by Raymond Briggs’ the Snowman and the Snowdog to turn on Southend’s Christmas Lights) \nPier Hill (6:15PM)\nEast 15 students will be putting on a spectacular Fire Show from 6:15pm up on Pier Hill. What an exciting way to get into the Christmas spirit! \nCity Beach (7:30PM)\nAnd of course\, to finish off the Christmas Lights celebrations in true Southend style\, FIREWORKS ON THE BEACH! \nFeatured on Southend Christmas Events 2014!
