DESCRIPTION:Free screening of Blade Runner\, at Focal Point Gallery in The Forum. \nThe main gallery will become a 4 channel immersive projection\, providing an extreme viewing experience. \nBlade Runner is the second of three films in the Southend Fringe Film Festival which explore extreme possible futures of the co-existence of man and machine. In 2019\, ex-detective Rick Deckard is called out of retirement to track down and eliminate a team of humanoid androids that have escaped from an outer space mining colony in a bid to find their creator. Based on the novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Phillip K. Dick\, this mysterious neo-noir science fiction film came after the immediate success of Scott’s cinematic masterpiece Alien\, in 1979.
