Southend’s very own Silent Studios made the headlines yesterday morning of sites like The Mirror and Entertainment Focus.

On Tuesday they were in London for a Game of Thrones season finale promotional gig (who watched the last episode of Game of Thrones? Can’t believe we have to wait a whole year now!), visiting various magazines in London to show off their costume design skills and promote the digital release of Game of Thrones. They visited Empire, Kerrang!, FHM, Closer, Heat, ZOO and Reveal and absolutely took London by storm! Photos were snapped up by passers by, and images have been circulating around social media today.

Their White Walker costume looks fantastic! Especially considering the fact that in Game of Thrones, the White Walkers are CGI so I can’t imagine it’s easy designing the physical costume to be so terrifying. Certainly lives up to the White Walker image as the baby-snatching, cold-hearted, ancient mythological creatures that they are depicted to be in the Game of Thrones series!

Silent Studios are a local Southend-based film company who specialise in horror effects. You can catch them at the Essex Zombie Walk on Southend Pier later this year!

You might have read about Silent Studios before when we blogged about them during the Southend Film Festival. When we spoke to Jason Wright, the CEO and Creative Director of Silent Studios for the Southend Film Festival article, he told Love Southend “Silent Studios are the up and coming horror company in Southend in Essex and have teams all over the UK and abroad which are involved in all kinds of films, TV, promotional and commercial work”. Up and coming indeed! These guys are going places :)

Silent Studios are also one of the main sponsors of this year’s London Anime & Gaming Con, alongside huge names such as Capcom, Game and Ubisoft. They have been chosen to lead the zombie gathering at the large anime and gaming convention.

It’s nice to see our local Southend talent going out to the city and making headlines.

Well done, guys!
